Computer games teach us nothing

Computer games are gaining more and more popularity nowadays. Some people believe that they do not just entertain people, but teach them some important skills. However, others claim that playing games is a meaningless pastime.

As far as I am concerned, computer games are not useless for a few reasons. Firstly, they develop agility, speed of thinking and improve memory. The player has to be concentrated on the game in order to win. That is why he has to engage all his intellectual abilities, which are improving in a positive way while playing. Secondly, computer games teach people to cooperate with other players, and thus, develop collaboration. Lastly, they help to relax after a busy day.

However, others do not agree with my point of view. According to them, computer games do not develop any useful skills. They are quite simple and do not require any intellectual abilities. Besides, if the games were educational, people would not played them that much.

Nevertheless, I do not agree with these arguments. This is exactly owing to my belief that computer games involve using high concentration, attentiveness, memorization and quick reaction. People obtain these skills while playing the computer in pursuance of being a winner. Moreover, educational games are less boring than just entertaining ones, because they imply constant solution of different tasks.

In conclusion, I would like to state that playing computer games is not a pointless activity. It has a great number of benefits and teaches people in different ways.
